Doctor Who Series 5 Soundtrack Preview
With such a short gap between the release of the Specials Soundtrack, it has given us less time to build up anticipation, but there is still some room for us to eagerly await this soundtrack that is to be released sometime next month.
Somehow, I have managed to get samples of each of the songs (courtesy of Life, Doctor Who and Combom
And for your information, I'm going to attempt to post a little more often after the half term, because I've been slacking a bit!

Steven Moffat insists the Beeb are commited to Doctor Who
Following rumours that Karen Gillan's character Amy Pond was going to be killed off, Stephen Moffat in Doctor Who Magazine said that fans worry too much, saying:
"I know this because I’ve been [one] since 1963."
"My favourite [rumour] is that this is the BBC’s cunning plan to reduce the number of episodes. Right. Okay ... It’s the BBC’s cunning plan to reduce the number of episode, by going to the extraordinary and fiendish lengths of . . . making exactly the same number of episodes quite honestly, you could go over that one a million times and it still wouldn’t work.
"My least favourite rumour: this is the BBC’s cunning (but slightly generous) plan to give me enough time to work on Sherlock as well. Okay...the BBC in their cunning and generosity have decided to reduce my workload by the devilishly clever stratagem of . . . making no difference to my workload whatsoever."

What music was played at the end of Vincent & the Doctor?
I was wondering what music was played at the gallery scene at the end of the Doctor Who episode 'Vincent and the Doctor', and after a lot of searching I found out that it is called 'Chances' by Athlete. Here's the video for it:

BBC Request more of Steven Moffat's 'Sherlock'
![]() |
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson |
The first episode, when first aired on Sunday got a total of 7.5 million, more than the Top Gear special in which A-list stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were on.
The BBC took note of this success and reports are saying that the BBC are asking Steven Moffat to make a whole series for it!

Karen Gillan drunk
Somehow Karen Gillan managed to get this..."wonderful" picture of her on the internet. Of course I decided to spread it on some more!

Is Toby Whitehouse writing for Series 6 of Doctor Who?

Toby Whitehouse at SFX's Comic Con Panel |
Toby Whitehouse, the script writer for 'School Reunion' and 'Vampires of Venice' may have accidentally admitted to writing an episode in Series 6 of Doctor Who while at SFX's San Diego Comic Con.
One audience member asked whether either he or Paul Cornell will consider writing for Doctor Who again, to which he replied that they're not allowed to say contractually.
However fellow panelist and novelist China Mieville then said: "We can apply a bit of detective work here. If Toby’s contractually advised not to say anything, that must mean he’s under contract." Could this mean a future story by him will materialise in the near future?

Some very ridiculous rumours
Ok, I was interested in any REAL INFO on what was going to happen with the Christmas special this year, but instead I found some very ridiculous rumours, courtesy of Scyfilove
Here are some ok ones that have been confirmed by BBC:
Here are some ok ones that have been confirmed by BBC:
- Michael Gambon
- Katherine Jenkins
- Matthew Waterhouse will be playing the ghost of Adric, a companion who died!
- Nick Briggs will be voicing ...wait for it... the Cyber daleks! (is this half dalek, half cyberman?)
- John Simms as the Master
- Alex Kingston as River Song (maybe something might be revealed about her mysterious line in the last episode about how 'when they next meet that's when everything changes'?
- Also (take a deep breath before reading this...) TOM BAKER as THE DOCTOR!
Matt Smith as a Simpson character!
I was just looking up some pictures for the blog because I haven't updated it in quite a long time, and I found what Matt Smith would look like if he was in the Simpsons! Also, note how he's in his old costume - there have been pictures taken of him in a new outfit that I will put up shortly...
Also coming up soon is some VERY strange rumours about the Christmas special...

The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang Ratings
For this somewhat amazing finale (well, at least in comparison to the whole Journey's End and Last of the Timelord crappiness...), the last episode got 5.1m views (31% of the overall audience which I personally think was too little - it really was a good episode!)
and the penultimate one got 5.9m, which I don't really understand because apart from the fact that many people were probably at the beach this weekend, it still doesn't explain why so little people watched such a brilliant episode!!
